Proverbs Pathway - Part 2

Hello Friends,

Welcome back to the Proverbs Pathway - finding your way God's way. What's in store today? Victory! Grab hold of these victorious truths: "For the Lord gives wisdom, and from His mouth come knowledge and understanding. He holds victory in store for the upright, He is a shield to those whose walk is blameless, for He guards the course of the just and protects the way of His faithful ones." Proverbs 2:6-8 Now, let's discover how God empowers us to be victors not victims.

First, God gives… this is His nature. Think of John 3:16: "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life." Fix your mind on these three fantastic powers only God can give.

Second, God holds victory in store. Victory implies an adversary, a struggle, a need to overcome in order to win. Spiritual victory is the ultimate victory of victories. Our three greatest adversaries are sin, death and judgment - there are no greater. You must ponder these realities or you'll forfeit the wisdom, knowledge and understanding God wants to bless you with today. God sent Jesus, our Advocate, to defeat these three and bring us victory. Note - God holds victory in store for the upright. Upright? The sincere one, the one who plays no games with God, the one who is earnest, real, humble, hungry for victory. Is that you?

Third, YOU are victorious. Verses 7 and following say it strong: "He is a shield to those whose walk is blameless, for He guards the course of the just and protects the way of His faithful ones. Then you will understand what is right and just and fair -every good path. For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul. Discretion will protect you…" Well, you've got to read the rest yourself in Proverbs 2:11-22.

It's like God says to you and me, which will you be - victim or victor?
